Let's roll. Welcome back, everybody. Today on the show, we're really excited to uh have someone that's changing kind of the sports entertainment space. Uh we're with John Brinkis and Rob Vaca, uh, the founders of Brinks TV and the NIL house. So we're really excited. Uh they're doing some really unique things. So uh Rob, John, welcome to the show.
SPEAKER_03Um Brent, this is the first time if you heard Brent say NIL house, he said the mill house.
SPEAKER_02I know. But listen, I'm clapping because someone's got to clap.
unknownThat's why.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. Appreciate the clapping over there.
SPEAKER_01So so for those of us uh who do know what Brinks TV is and the NIL house is, um, you know, you guys are doing some really unique things and kind of an underserved market, things that ESPN and other kind of leading networks aren't doing. So for the folks out there that aren't aware of what Brinks TV is, why you did it, you know, I know that you are a six-time Emmy Award winner. Congratulations. Uh, you ran the show and produced the show ESPN uh sports science. So there we go. I laid it out for you. I put I put your your your bio out there.
SPEAKER_02There isn't. I'm hey, I can I gotta tell you, Brad, you are very buttoned up. You're being very buttoned up. Where's this suit and tie? Listen.
SPEAKER_01Lighten up, Braddy baby. The American virus is sitting on my chest.
SPEAKER_02Here, here's I know it is not possible for people to be unaware of Brinks TV, but if you happen to not know what it is.
SPEAKER_03Living under a rock.
SPEAKER_02Right, living under a rock somewhere. Brinks, B R I N X dot TV will change your life. Guaranteed. Money back guaranteed, free platform to sign up. I will give you your free money back if it doesn't change your life.
SPEAKER_01There's no egos in this room, ladies and gentlemen. No, no egos in this room.
SPEAKER_02100%. Listen to me. I am amazing. Just ask me. So he's telling the truth. Here's what brings TV is it's the ultimate convergence of content and commerce. So for those of you who don't know who I am, and I don't know who you are, but maybe there are some people who don't know who I am. Best known as the guy who hosted and created a show called ESPN Sports Science. We did 1800 episodes, won six semis, wrote a New York Times bestselling book, sold sports science to ESPN, the uh production company into another conglomerate, then said, What's next? What's next is building a one-of-a-kind content platform that's every bit as good as ESPN and every other broadcast network, and merging it with a commerce platform where you can watch and shop without being ever redirected anywhere else. That experience on its own is a monumental moonshot, just making the interface. Not only did we make the interface, but we also make the programming. The programming, the NIL house that Salty MF is a massive sponsor of, and Brad, who is uh the man, the myth, the legend behind helping us get to where we are today. The the NIL house is the most viewed daily sports program on the planet, documented, FCC verified, over 2 million viewers a day. To put that in perspective, Stephen A. Lane gets gets 800,000 uh viewers a day. We're crushing it with that. And most importantly, the development that is most notable is that Trilith Ventures, Trilith Studios is the largest television movie studio in North America, 2,500 acres, 32 sound stages, the largest virtual reality stage uh in the world. They have retail, residential, shopping, everything. Uh, they also came in forming a venture called Trillith Ventures, and their first investment was in Brinks TV. They could have built anything they wanted, they could have bought anything they wanted, but they see Brinks as the future in the next generation of sports and entertainment, which it is. Rob, you're allowed to talk now. I was gonna say, Rob, God bless you.
SPEAKER_03I was brought to do two things drink drink water and also let everybody know that I'm best known known as the best buddy of the guy who created ESPN Sports Science, the sixth time Emmy Award winner of New York Times, blah, blah.
SPEAKER_01Don't let Rob Fully. He's a pretty smart business guy. So and he's been in this space a long time around athletes. And so, really, you know, one of the things that uh that that's really been fun to work with you guys on is these young athletes. And giving them um recognition in a platform has been awesome. And I can't tell you how many people that we sponsor on the show are really grateful and thankful. And I think, you know, you guys just came back from the NIL awards, right? And I think it was like 800 or 900 college kind of age kids there. And that that's that's pretty awesome. It's giving a platform really where there wasn't much of a platform for these athletes unless, you know, they were the number one guy or the top gal. And uh I I think that's what's I think that's really cool about it, other than the fact that, you know, yeah, it's technically awesome and you're awesome, and you're awesome. Hey, don't take a breath, don't take a breath because you'll miss about a thousand words here in a second. But um so so Rob, tell us what it's like working with this guy. Because I mean, what is it what is it like working with this guy? Well, it's daily, first of all.
SPEAKER_00Daily.
SPEAKER_03I think it's important to mention that. It's every morning. We shoot the show every morning, right? We shoot the show either in 8 o'clock, nine o'clock, 9 30, 8 30. And somehow, not drinking alcohol, not doing drugs, not taking any any of this that this guy has like the energizer bunny energy. And it makes me feel a hell of a lot older than I am.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And so what we're doing is really it's interesting, Brad, because we get to work with the world's greatest athletes, both young from a uh college standpoint and from a professional standpoint. And the programming that's on Brinks TV is unbelievable because you have Ray Lewis, you got Marcellus Wiley, you have Champ Bailey, you have the NIL house with John and I, you have the NIL house nutrition, which is Mark McDonald, who was opposite Sanjay Gupta for a decade on headline news. He's the nutrition expert. So the programming we have, the faces, the personalities, the distribution is really second to none. It's unbelievable.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and I think it's really I think it's cool how you own not only the network and the content and the production, which which gives you a lot of control of what you can do, right? And you can do some things that you might not be able to do if you're owned by a large network. And I think that's the the authenticity of it and being able to say what you want to say on it. Um I've heard several people say, well, that that's like that's funny. Like those guys are just saying shit that like you can't say that on ESPN. So I think that feel is uh pretty pretty awesome to uh to the consumer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's really important that we own everything. I mean, literally the vision is we're the platform, we're the tech, we are the programming, we're the creators, we're the IP owners, we're part of the products, we're everything. Right. The reason being is that there's no reason not to. And everybody wants to. So we are very content creator forward. We, with all of the our hosts, whether or not it's Marcellus or Champ or or anybody else that's coming on board, we want to make sure that they're sharing in the upside, the tremendous upside that there is in entertainment. And when you look at the traditional Hollywood deals that are done, and I I've been in the business my entire life, they're just not a great deal. They're usually a here's your fee, we're gonna go make 10x the fee that we're paying you, and goodbye. And that's it. And that deal is that's like so archaic. The deal should be we're in this as a business together, and we're gonna make as much money as possible, and we share in it. Right. That should always be the business model, but nobody has that business model except Prince TV. Right.
SPEAKER_01Well, I think I think that's why the bigger networks are also um gonna get really hurt by things like this. I think they're gonna they're gonna find that a lot of their viewers or fans are gonna move to other platforms that are more engaging, just like the fact that you guys, you know, you're you're kind of like pay to watch, pay to play, kind of so you can get paid watching uh, you know, videos or shows or buying merchandise, and then you can redeem those things for points, right? Viewing time, whatever surveys, whatever you guys are doing on that. And that's pretty cool. I mean, if you're gonna sit there and watch ESPN or watch some other platform, well, they're they're not gonna give back to you and reward you for being uh a loyal fan, right? I mean, it's like being a loyal fan. And so I think that kind of commerce side of it is is very powerful, you know, to be honest with you. So uh I I like it. I think people like it. You know, be able to redeem points, and I don't know if you want to talk much about in the future, maybe taking points and doing some uh not necessarily gambling is the word, but uh yeah, that's the word.
SPEAKER_02You can gamble points, it's legal. Yeah, it's legal as long as it's not a uh regulated currency and brinks bucks, which is our version of a credit card point or an airline mile or whatever. We we reward people for watching. We pay you to watch TV. So you get a point every minute, you get a point every dollar that's spent. You get a point and rewarded for engaging on the platform that then can be applied to sponsorship merchandise directly, which finishes the loop. Sponsors want to move product, consumers want to be rewarded. The when the consumer is rewarded, they buy a product that a sponsor has placed on the platform, apply, rinse, repeat, and you get to be rewarded by watching amazing content the entire time. Content ends up ruling the day. The ease of use on a platform is second, and great products is third.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Yeah, I like it. I mean, the mobile side, I've you know, obviously I'm on it and watch it every time, and the mobile side's really clean. Uh so uh that's you can watch it anywhere.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_01Watch it in the airport. So tell me, tell me, like some of you guys have gotten some pretty interesting um, you know, partnerships with like uh real TV in the airports, right? And uh how I know that's really effective is because when we first met, and I think we first did the interview of what you know, what is salty, uh I had a buddy in LAX and he called me on the phone and he says, Hey man, I'm I'm watching TV in the airport. And I'm like, you know, what the hell are you talking? What are you what are you talking about, dude? And he's like, You're on TV. I'm like, No, I'm not on TV, dude. You know, no, it's it's you on TV. And I called John and said, Hey, just just you know, curiously, what's the reach on this thing? And he's like, I was three million plus viewers a day. And uh it that moment like hit me like, wow, shit, this this this is pretty powerful. I mean, how many people walk to the airport every day or watching these shows, which by the way are bullshit. It's usually CNN or some bullshit news things, propaganda that they're shoving down your throat. So uh I thought that was pretty unique. So I I became a believer that's that that day, actually.
SPEAKER_03Well, yeah, the the Reach TV of it all, which is the network that's in all the airports, right? They're in 91 airports, they've got 2,500 screens in those airports, the world's busiest airports like Atlanta and JFK and Miami. And uh 500,000 hotel lobbies, hotel rooms, restaurants, bars. That network combined with Brinks TV as a network, combined with the social channels of our guests and ourselves, now you daisy chain all of that together and you have a pipeline of viewers that keeps expanding. So if you look at just the NIL house show for last month, the last 30 days, I just pulled it an hour ago. We were looking at May 14th through June 14th, and it was 84 million impressions as a result of the show, and the viewership was 55 million people. So that's a lot of people watching the show in a month period, and it's interesting content, right? There's no other NIL show on the market, an NIL name, image, likeness for college athletes. But we also talk about sports marketing deals for high school kids. We were talking about Baby Gronk. We're talking about pro athletes. So people are interested in this stuff, but we're trying to be funny in an authentic way. We're trying to introduce brands in an authentic way, we're trying to introduce athletes in an authentic way, we're trying to showcase the deals that athletes and brands are doing, and we're doing everything in our power not to be monotonous and boring. It's not an X's and O's kind of sports show.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, I know I I have a suggestion. So we've uh you know, we've started a lot of agencies that represent these athletes are contacting us. And I mean I think it'd be an interesting to have just the life of an agency, you know, a sports agency type show, what what they go through, how you know, because I I I didn't know the agency world. I didn't I didn't come from that, you know. You you guys were probably one of the first introductions in I. You know, when John said, hey, I think this would be a good idea. I didn't I'm like, okay, well, what's what's nil? What's zero the nil ounce? It's zero. What's nil mean? Either that or a wafer? Nil, hell shit, what's that? Vanilla. V vanilla. No, it's not nothing vanilla. But I we we have so many um kids. I think we have up to like 69 or 70 athletes that we've kind of sponsored now and through the co-brand and stuff with you guys. And uh what's interesting is uh what I tell the athletes is, you know, that we're we're about like your journey, your grit, your story. I don't care if you're five-star, I don't care if you're you know a one-star. I mean, if you've got a good personality, and we've had some some guys that you know, they're not going into the FL. They're not they're not moving on into Major League Baseball, but but they're good people. And so I think learning about how to how to build their brand, how to promote, you know, promote themselves, how to present themselves is like been uh it's been a really cool, interesting subject.
SPEAKER_02I think Salt EMF really is the blueprint for what to do as a brand. Everyone wants to go to the shiny object, and you think the shiny object is the biggest, the strongest, the fastest, when in reality it's the most authentic. It's the one that can actually move people. People would be shocked if you were to actually dive into the ability for a human being or an or a you know any any person on social media and student athlete in this case of moving people to action. When you say, like, look, they might be a one-star, they may not be the star quarterback, but they are an interesting, authentic human being, that's the blueprint for success because salty MF has a very simple value proposition. You drip confidence. Period. End of statement, that's who you are. If you're a one-star and you drip confidence, if you're a five-star, you drip confidence, if you're somewhere in between, or if you're not an athlete at all, like myself, I drip confidence and I am a salty MF. You're not lacking in confidence.
SPEAKER_00I really I appreciate that about you. Right.
SPEAKER_02I do not lack in confidence. And I will tell you this the salty MF of it all, everyone says, what does the MF stand for? Like, is it something like kitschy? And I'm like, no, it stands for motherfucker. Monster puppet. Right. It's like, dude, I'm a salty motherfucker. And that's what makes the brain so awesome. Is that no, it's not being like cutesy about it, it's being direct.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I love it. Well, that the the milk fockless shirt's coming out, and Rob Vacket. Yeah, Rob Vacket's getting uh he's getting all the credits for milk focl. Well, I I can't tell you though, we have kids as young as like 14 and 13, and it was kind of, you know, I I'm not an overly sentimental guy, but I like good stories. And uh this kid uh DM'd us and said, Hey, I I play golf at my high school in Alabama, blah, blah. I can't say his name because I obviously underage, but he's like, you know, I had to have a heart replacement. They said I was gonna die. They said I would never play sports, and now I'm starting on my, you know, my varsity golf team. I really like to, I'd like to represent your stuff. And I just like that was cool. That was a cool moment. Like, that's the coolest thing that's happened in the last two years. Like, that was really cool.
SPEAKER_02I think it's super cool. And when you looked at it initially, Salt TMF as a brand, five-star, baller, you know, and player. And your first thought is are people gonna be comfortable wearing something, something that labels themselves as excellent? Right. And the reality is listen, if you're dripping confidence as a human being, I in seventh grade had what's called the uh the teacher made us recite the self-creed. I believe in me, I like me, I have total confidence in me, I don't care what others think, which is awesome. I'm happy with me. And you say something like that, and you're like, yeah, and I'm a five-star. Yeah. Am I saying I'm a five-star athlete or a five-star human being? I'm a five-star version of myself. Exactly. That's what Salty MF is.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. And I mean, the idea, I mean, we're up moving to Salty, and this is really supposed to be out brings TV, so I appreciate that. But uh, I mean, I appreciate the kudos. But uh, the whole idea was uh to honor like gritty people. And it it could be your grandma, it could be, you know, your uncle, it could be your sister, whatever. So the idea of it was really not built around you know athletics at all, but it fits athletics. So, you know, I I appreciate all this, but I I want to hear some of the good stuff come out on Brinks TV because I appreciate you guys and all the support you've given us because you really have um, you know, we wouldn't be where we're at without Brinks TV, to be honest with you. And that's a that's a that's a true statement because and and we stumbled into it. We we didn't know what the fuck we were doing. Like I didn't know what I didn't know John who John was. So I mean, I'm the only person after this show that will admit I did not know who John was. So I knew Rob because he was famous for the milk foclate drink, but I did not I did not know John. But like, so tell us what you like what what do you envision this really being one like ultimately, like ultimately, other than you know, the best sports show, the new era sports entertainment. And I believe that because I see it and we live it, but like what's the long-term thing for you? I mean it's I mean, what is it? Just to keep you're having fun, obviously.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's the stickiest platform ever made where you never have to leave it for any reason. So if you go to Brinks TV now, download the amp uh the app or go to Brinks.tv and and register for a free account, we have amazing programming. We have an amazing interface to buy the products that we want you to buy. We also, underneath the X, you always get a surprise. We have a program within a program within a program. We are the inception of tech platforms. You will never leave because I'm never gonna give you a reason to leave. That and ultimately that value proposition of time on the platform, getting great content, getting great products, having an awesome experience is is very difficult to replicate. And with partners like Salt TMF, like yourself, with original programming that we create, part uh programming that we're creating with partners, we're onboarding PLN with the pro league network that has car jitsu and slap fighting and pillow fighting, things that you can bet Brinks bucks on, sponsors that are coming aboard to sponsor the next big thing in sports, which I believe is niche sports. We're just gonna be the ultimate platform that is incredibly sticky. Rob, your thoughts.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, look, I I didn't know what when I heard car jitsu, I thought it was like I heard card jujitsu, and I was like, so you have cards and what's the dance card? But imagine jujitsu, the martial art, occurring inside of a small automobile. And imagine a woman or a man. The women are just as brutal. Imagine getting your head slammed against a steering wheel or your neck pinned behind the seatbelt. It is fascinating, some of these sort of niche sports, and at the same time that we're bringing these alive, we're bringing back the next iteration of what John is most famous for, his greatest work, in the GOAT code. So the GOAT code is 2023 beyond technology for the greatest athletes of the world in segments. So we just did a deal with the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It's massive. We'll do a segment on every pro football hall of famer, starting with the 2023 class and their induction in August into Canton. And now every pro football hall of famer gets a jacket, a bust, and a segment of the goat code. And when we're done, you know, fiddling with the start of that, we'll go to the College Football Hall of Fame and the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Country Hall of Fame, and the Hockey Hall of Fame, and into perpetuity. So the programming is everything from niche sports to funny stuff to NIL to goat code.
SPEAKER_01So there's a lot here and a lot more coming. Yeah. No, I think well the the format makes sense, as I said, you could go into the music world. There's so many things that you could go into. And by the way, we we've got uh I'd like to get a few Nashville music guys on the show as well that we've been working with. So um that's awesome. And that's that's absolutely amazing. Um I lost my thought of track or track of thought there. But um so good. So so who do you guys think has been the most interesting guest on your show? Was there someone that that you've that like is there one that stuck out and why? I'm just curious like to bring it down to kind of like uh an individual. Yeah, you thought, wow, this this person meant it's hard.
SPEAKER_03Listen, we had a whole segment with Livy Dunn. Yes, it's hard. She's such a uh uh mesmerizing, magnetizing figure. She was amazing. Uh I thought the Cavender twins the Cavender twins were our very first episode. Yeah. We we launched back last late summer, early fall. The Cavender twins were the first episode. But we've had we had uh Dennis Collin, the the Popeye's meme kid. He's hilarious. So we've had a host of interesting guests.
SPEAKER_02We had it's always hard to pick a favorite guest, but if I had to pick one, we had this guy, Brad Banyas, or something like that. I can't remember what his last name was. Booyah. Booyah, I can't remember what it was.
SPEAKER_01This is definitely gonna cost me. I mean check the guy.
SPEAKER_02And he walked in, first of all, it was like this man scent, more of a musk. Yeah, it was a little, it was a little piney, pine tarish. Yeah. And he sat down saying, Listen, fellas. And I was like, listen, you have taken my man card, you stripped it away from me. I mean, you are just the ultimate male. And I said, Listen, I I yield the floor to you. And he was the best guest player.
SPEAKER_01All right. Well, this is a pitch for our Bigwood cedar soap, which I did bathe that day before I did come in. So if you want to smell good, get some of that big wood cedar soap on saltymf.com. So uh that's a true shape.
SPEAKER_03Bathing up.
SPEAKER_01Well, guys, I I'm excited to uh continue to work with you guys, and you've been you've been so awesome to us and and gr and we're grateful. And uh, you know, it it's just it's been a ride. And I think we've only been involved maybe six six months, but uh it's it's going nuts. Uh what I would tell the audience, Salty Nation out there, is go to Brinks TV, uh sign up, get an account. Um, you know, like I said, you can you can win money if that's what you're into, but the content's excellent. Um the guests that they have on are real. That's one of the things that I like the most about this, is we're interviewing like some of these kids have no, you know, how do you talk online, how do you present yourself. They're just raw and they're genuine and they they you know they're just happy. And so for that, I'm grateful for Brinks TV and the NIL or Nail House if you're from Georgia. Um, I'm really grateful for that. So I I I can't thank you guys enough for being on.
SPEAKER_02If you have anything closing that you uh that you need to say, I want you to say I know I do, but Rob, why don't you go first? Well, I'm I'm usually it's usually time to strike up the band, but there is no band.
SPEAKER_00Well, you guys say, hold on. There's no get over here, Brooks. Brooks.
SPEAKER_03Well listen, listen, salty MS, but great. We're having a ton of fun. We love you guys, and we're repping the brand. I wear this stuff uh all the time. It's comfy, it's it's hip. And uh get it, you can get it at Brinks TV as well.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely. It's B-R-I-N-X. I mean, we also bought the KS and at Forwards if you can't spell it, but Brinks.tv, whatever. Uh here's all that I have to say. When is this when when are you putting out this podcast?
SPEAKER_01Uh it'll be out in a couple days.
SPEAKER_02In a couple days. All that I have to tell you, all that I have to say, and I just want to turn the tables really quick. Brad, you were at the great Kerfluffle, right? Oh, yeah. The formal name was the Great Kerfluffle live presentation with music with magic acts and stuff. 33rd Annual 33rd Annual. That's right. Uh coming up in July, we have our next live event. And for those of you who have not been to uh the NIL house parties, they're all awesome. I mean awesome, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And how do you get invited? You got to be somebody. You got to figure it out. We got a next event in July that we are going to announce shortly. We'll announce the date, but it is the NIL House bake sale.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Yes.
SPEAKER_02So if you can bake, hold on a second.
SPEAKER_03Brownies, cookies, yeah, the whole the whole array.
SPEAKER_00All right, I'll bring the brownies. Exactly. Hold on a second. The brownies are already taken. No, I'm bringing I'm gonna bring my own homemade brownies.
SPEAKER_01You're gonna love that. I got one thing about the great kerfuffle. So all these like athletes, football players, basketball, all these like super guys are there, and there's one guy standing in the corner, and he's a monster of a man. I'm gonna be like, I I keep trying to recognise, I'm like, you know, I know you from somewhere. And he's like, he goes, You know me from somewhere, but it's not what you think you know me from. So I'm looking at him and he goes, You remember the character Greg Meany, and I was like, uh, God, it sounds familiar. So I mean he goes, Did you ever see the movie Water Bone? I'm like, Oh, you're the dude that hawked the loogie in the water and said water sucks. I was like so happy I met that guy. It was it was mine of the great. It was maybe it was our own damn party. I never I don't know what he's talking about.
SPEAKER_02Did we let this guy in? I don't know. He has got he's coming to the baked thing. Yeah, he's awesome.
SPEAKER_01He has marijuana fields. He grows his own marijuana in C B D now. He's the most interesting dude I've ever met. And I'm slipping his name right now. He's gonna be pissed at me. I'm so sorry. I can't wrist for him. The guy was uh it was a great. I was like, I wasn't happy because I'm at Sean Merriman or something like that. I'm like, dude, this this is this is Greg Meany. This is the dude that hawked the lewd in the water water boy.
SPEAKER_02I didn't know he was there, did you?
SPEAKER_01Well, I'm gonna have to introduce you guys. Maybe I don't know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00I don't know.
SPEAKER_02All that I was Rob Markman.
SPEAKER_01I'm a simple guy, man. It doesn't take much to uh entertain me. Hey, if you need a good uh shrink, Dr. Finkelstein, I'll give you his number. It's a great uh we can get ahead of this.
SPEAKER_02Salt EMF needs to come up with the NIL house bake shale sale t-shirt.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I got it. Well, can I have free will at what I do on it?
SPEAKER_02You have free willy with it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Can I do whatever I want willy? Yeah. But it has to be the NIL house bake sale.
